Online hangouts like Face book and My Space have offered crime-solving help to detectives and become a resource. In the article "Web networking photos come back to bite defendants" , Joshua Lipton was charge of drinking and driving crash that injured a 20 year old woman. When Lipton attended court he claimed that he wasn't the person the women. He also said that he does not party or drink. Days after the incident, detectives found pictures of Lipton on his face book page the day of Halloween drinking and partying. These pictures was shown to the judge. Lipton was guilty and was sentenced two years in jail. Rhode Island prosecutors say Lipton was drunk and speeding near his school, Bryant University in Smithfield, in October 2006 when he triggered a three-car collision that left 20-year-old Jade Combies hospitalized for weeks. Kevin Bristow, Lipton's attorney uses the incident as an example to his own teenage children to watch what they post online."If ...
