Online hangouts like Face book and My Space have offered crime-solving help to detectives and become a resource. In the article "Web networking photos come back to bite defendants", Joshua Lipton was charge of drinking and driving crash that injured a 20 year old woman. When Lipton attended court he claimed that he wasn't the person the women. He also said that he does not party or drink. Days after the incident, detectives found pictures of Lipton on his face book page the day of Halloween drinking and partying. These pictures was shown to the judge. Lipton was guilty and was sentenced two years in jail. Rhode Island prosecutors say Lipton was drunk and speeding near his school, Bryant University in Smithfield, in October 2006 when he triggered a three-car collision that left 20-year-old Jade Combies hospitalized for weeks. Kevin Bristow, Lipton's attorney uses the incident as an example to his own teenage children to watch what they post online."If it shows up under your name you own it," he said, "and you better understand that people look for that stuff."

According to "Teenagers Misbehaving, for all online to watch" by Corey Kilgannon, last month, after viewing a video of the beating of a 13-year-old girl that was broadcast on Web sites including My Space, Photo bucket and You Tube, the authorities arrested three freshman girls from nearby North Babylon High School. On Feb. 2, Deer Park officers announced that five teenagers had been arrested for fence-plowing. The authorities said the teenagers may have been imitating a popular You Tube video posted last year that received three and a half stars and had nearly 70,000 viewers. “Teens have been doing inappropriate things for a long time, but now they think they can become celebrities by doing it,” said Dr. Andrew Adesman.

Victoria Lindsay 16, and was accused by six girlfriends of talking-trash on MySpace about them. According to " Victoria Lindsay Beaten by Teens for Video", Authorities in Lakeland, Florida, have arrested April Cooper, Brittini Hardcastle, Kayla Hassell, Britney Mayes, Cara Murphy, and Mercades Nichols on charges that they either beat Victoria Lindsay for 30 minutes or stood guard while filming the attack to be shown on the internet. Victoria Lindsay suffered hearing loss in one ear and eye problems in one eye along with a concussion, according to the Tampa Bay Tribune.

In both these story's these teens made their actions public.They committed a crime with out knowing they committed it. These teens only wanted 15 minutes of fame. Teens have been doing inappropriate things for a long time, but now they think they can become celebrities by doing it. People should be careful on what they put up on the Internet. If they put up illegal things on the Internet they might get caught and spend some time in jail.Detectives also get there evidence from the Internet. The teens should of not posted there inappropriate behaviors on the Internet because that's only going to supply the police with evidence to convict you with.

Mark Twain uses satire in his essay. Satire is the use of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like in exposing, denouncing or deriding vice, folly. Twain provides six items of advice to the youth. Always obey your parents, be respectful to your superior, go to bed early;getup early, never handle firearms carelessly, be careful about lying. Obeying is the best policy according to Twain because if I don't they will make I. Most parents think they know better than I do, and I can generally make more by humoring that superstition than I can by acting own better judgment. Twain instructed the youth to avoid firearms and violence. Twain says don’t I meddle with old unloaded firearms; they are the most deadly and unerring things that have ever been created by man. He'd rather no one set a hand on a gun to aim it at no one. Playing with firearms is very dangerous. He also says to be very careful about lying; otherwise I am nearly sure to get caught. Once caught, I can never again be in the eyes to the good and the pure, be what I was before. I might as well tell the truth at once and be done with it.
Twain clearly states to always avoid violence; in this age of charity and kindliness, the time has gone by for such things. Leave dynamite to the low and unrefined. Mark says that "reading is great, an inestimable, and unspeakable means of improvement." He wants us to build our character thoughtfully and painstakingly upon these precepts, and by and by, when you have got it built, you will be surprised and gratified to see how nicely and sharply it resembles everybody else’s.
There is an article in The Onion, showing Al Gore placing his infant son in a rocket saving him from the dying earth. It shows satire referring to "Superman the movie". The picture relates to the speech that Al Gore presented about global worming.

What Makes a good liar?

There are many lies told each day, those that do not affect the masses and those that do. Montaigne's Essay "on liars", states that no one is not conscious of having a sound memory should set up to be a liar. Liars either invent the whole thing, or they change the facts around. If a liar makes up a story, they apparently have much less reason to be afraid of tripping up. There is always going to be consequences for a person that lies if they do not know how to lie. If a lie is told, or is worded as propaganda, it may cause all kinds of consequences — even killing and causing nations to go to war. If a person tells the truth, they don't have to remember anything. Lying leads to killing , dislike, attitude, behavior issues and fights. A good liar should have an excellent memory. They should remember every detail of the lie. A good liar has to be careful to whom they lie to. If they lie to the wrong person, they might get hurt, killed, arrested or injured. A bad liar would confuse every aspect of there lie.
A person that does not lie, should remember what happened by detailed. Not like a lier that has to think on their lie and then have to remember it.

~WHY WE LIE?~

A liar is a person who is lying, who has previously lied, or who tends by nature to lie repeatedly. There are four types of lies. Which is fear, habit, modelling and overprediction. Most children lie because they're afraid of the consequences that maybe given. A child is very sentimental about things. No child enjoys getting punished. To try to avoid their punishment they will try to avoid the punishment with a lie. Lying can also become a habit formed through constant practice. A person could be use to lying about every little thing. From one time a child lied, it can become a habit. Children Tend to look up to older people. Many children have a role model. So if the person that a child looks up to lies all the time, the child might pick up these bad habits and start to lie. Children learn to lie though experiencing other lies. Children also lie because they overpredict a reaction. Because a child thought that the mother was going to tell them no they lie to try to get what they want.

A child might learn to lie from a person they look up to or a friend. Because they saw their friend lie to their mother, a child would be influenced by their friend.

There are ways to determine if a child is lying because of there facial expressions, clearness of statement and spontaneity. When a child is telling the truth, they are relaxed. Children who are not telling the truth can be anxious. Parents should listen carefully to what their children tell them. If children are telling the truth, their statement usually does not sound rehearsed. If their statements do sound rehearsed, parents should ask questions to see how their child handles coming up with an answer.
Every human being that breaths air has had a moment to lie. I think it's okay to lie one but not all the time. A person that lies daily about any little thing is called a compulsive liar. I really dont lie. I'm the type of person that speaks my mind. I tell the truth at all times because I don't believe in lying. I feel there's no point to lie because the truth will come out sooner or later. When I was just a young girl, I seemed to lie all the time to try to get what I wanted. Now I'm much older and I know what's right from wrong. Lying is wrong and telling the truth is right.

"I'm NOT GOING TO LIE TO YOU, THAT'S WHY HENDRICKS IS HERE FOR". This illustration reminds me of my child hood. My brother was the liar in the house. He lied about every little thing. "I'm not going to lie to you, that's why my brother is here for". I lied but not as much as my brother.

Alternative Energy

Alternative energy is a term used for an energy source that is an alternative to using fossil fuels. Alternative energy doesn't harm the environment. Alternative energy consist of Solar,wind,alternative fuel,wave,geothermal energy. Solar and wind power are generated far away from the real consumers.Wind energy is worked with the wind. Texas is one place that is providing alternative energy. The World Bank approved $9.5 million to fund renewable energy electricity supplies.
“Solar” is the Latin word for “sun” and it’s a powerful source of energy. We can use solar power in two different ways: as a heat source, and as an energy source. We can also use solar energy to make electricity. The process is called photovoltaic. Photovoltaic energy is the conversion of sunlight into electricity. Solar power is a good way to conserve energy. Solar heating has been used for thousands of years to warm solar thermals. Solar panels have no moving parts. You just mount them out in the sun, hook up the wires, and collect power, without adding fuel or replacing worn-out parts. Solar hot water heating panels became very popular in the USA in the late 1970s and early 1980s for preheating a homes hot water.Today, more than 10,000 American families get all of their electricity from solar power.

"Gore's Challenge"

Al Gore is an American environmental activist. He is a former politician that served as the forty fifth vice president. He was a member of the senate. Gore supports solution to the climate crisis. Gore would want every human being to go out and recycle, its cleaner and better for our environment. Gas is increasing and so are electricity rates. Jobs are being out sourced and Gore want to help change that. He wants to make changes quickly. According to Gore, there is a 75% chance that with only 5 years the entire North Pole ice cap will completely disappear during the summer. Gore's main point is to not offer old solution to each crisis separately. If we replace carbon based fuels with solar power, wind power or even geothermal power the earth will be a cleaner and safe place. Al Gore wants "To free use from the crisis that are holding us down and regain control of our destiny". Gore's main Challenge is to commit to producing 100% of our electricity from renewable energy and carbon free energy within 10 years. This represents a challenge to all Americans. We have less than 10 years to complete this American crisis because we cant stand the American crisis for 10 more years. Gore says "reduce pollution, And tax what we burn not what we earn". To start on the Challenge we must make up smaller policies. Joining the WE campaign will be a start on helping Gore complete his challenge.

In my part I will be against pollution and help keep my environment clean as possible. I will spread Gore's words and let everyone know about the environmenta l crisis. It would be good for us Americans to get into alternative energy. I prefer using an electric car instead of a gas car. Cars that run on gas pollutes the air and affect people with asthma. People get sick every day because of the pollution that is going on. Recycling is a good start for me to help abolish American crisis. Short cost reduction is now taking place. The government could help as well with abolishing American crisis. They could help lower gas prices and electricity rate, and help re-employ Americans.

"Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see" by Benjamin Franklin. I believe the above quote means if a person happens to hear something, its not always guarantee correct or accurate until there's proof to back it up. Many people over hear conversations every day. I had times in my life where I've over heard conversations and thought that I heard something but all along I had the wrong information. I've also have times in my life that I thought that I seen something but really didn't. My eyes sometimes play tricks on me. If I happened to see something, I believe in what you saw but to a certain extent.

There are some people out in this world that most likely have a quote or piece of writing that they're very interested in. Quotes to me make me think to a another extent. I enjoy analysing quotes. It keeps me thinking and focus. My favorite quote for about several years already is "Don't worry about people in your past, there's a reason they did not make it to your future". This quote is just like Benjamin Franklin's quote, it speaks out on its own. This quote means to forget about the problems and people that where in my past that did no good for me and try working on a better future. I always carry this quote around with me and say it to whom has problems. I always say "Don't let anything or anyone come in your way and stress you out."

New York City Schools....

According to Jennifer Medina from the New York Times, States that Most of the New York City parents, teachers and students who filled out the Department of Education survey said that they were satisfied with their schools. In Jennifer Medina's article, "Students, Teachers and Parents Weigh In on State of the Schools" she state this is the second year that the city has had the survey of nearly 1.5 million parents, teachers and students.72% of students feel safe in the hallways, bathrooms and locker rooms at there schools. I agree with the 72% of students that feel safe in there schools because the school I'm attending is very safe, has a numerous number of security guarding and walking through the hallways. 587,000 people responded to the survey,48,002 teachers and 410,708 students including my self.
I agree with the survey because I see a difference between how the school system is running as far as me feeling safe and comfortable with my surroundings. The classes that I attend now are much smaller that the year before. I have realized that I have learned more and education has become interesting and fun. I suggest that the New York City Board of Education should improve only on their school lunches. More variety of food for the money that we pay would be a good start to a perfect school system; even though I disagree with having students pay for our school lunch.

The New York City Schools should offer more programs to students academically. Having more reading program would be a good offer. They do say "Reading is fundamental". Creating a program that has to do with the students future careers. For an example, I personally want to major in hospitality and management when I graduate from high school. The Board of Education should consider a program that is based on hospitality and learning experiences; tie down to a subject that students take that is needed to finish High school. Math, Accounting and a Hospitality class would be good subjects to offer to have a good start in Hospitality.

~Music~

To me music is a good way for me to keep relax and calm. As a person that enjoys singing, music is a big factor for me. I love every type of music except music that talks and name call a female because they think its right and fun. I've learned that every culture has there own type of music. I think that a person that write music is very talented. I seem to like alternative music because it makes me feel relax and open. Don't get me wrong i like every type of music, like soft R and B, salsa, alternative, and much more. I'm very interested in music that tell a story through its lyrics and has a vibe to it. I really enjoy the looks of music symbols. I see them as art and very simple. I always wanted to learn how to read music symbols.
I look up to Nina Sky because of there voices. There music tells a story. Not only I like there music I also like who they are.There voices are amazing. Most of my family member's say that I resemble them in singing and in looks.Well I don't really know Nina Sky's background information other than they are a great singers , they are two twin sister's and they're Puerto Rican. These sister's are know to do a lot of remixes with other famous people.They were born in Queens and grew up in both Queens.When the sisters were only 7 years old, they wrote their first song, "Sisters", and by the time they were 10, they already knew that they wanted to become singers.Nicole and Natalie Albino( which is there real names) are the new hip-hop stars to watch with their hit 2004 song, "Move Ya Body."

with listening and learning from Listening with empathy and understanding is when two people are conversation and the other person is listening to the persons thoughts and ideas. I'm the the type of person that is engagedanthers persons thoughts and ideas. Its interesting when the person I speak to have different prospectives. We always tend to learn from one another. In order for me to understand a persons thought I have to listen to be able to understand.
